‘From Junk to Jewel’ Applying New Life to a Pair of Jeans
CIFF Copenhagen
📍Center Boulevard 5, Copenhagen
Workshop will explore a pair of worn out blue jeans. By adding notes, stray pieces of silk and ceramics to it we will create a new life for a piece. Planning to make object that speaks a possible story by re-interpreting it and bringing to it another context. By adding other objects to it, we will try to turn a pair of used jeans into a precious object.
I am interested in a way how clothes are able to communicate, become a reflection of a certain culture, or can be turned into the tools for activism. Re-pairing a pair of jeans and keeping it open to for everybody who wants to participate will make a feminist statement.
One day in June we sat with Nino from Scandinavia Standard to talk about my project and feminism. The result is here

A New Address in Helsingør
In Helsingør there is a yard with a few artist shops. One of them is owned by Nanna. She is a ceramic artist making realy nice objects. Now she also presents my project. Visiting the shop made me realise how well ceramics and silk play together! If in the town - visit Stendgade 31h and if you lucky you can meet the bass player just at the door!
